Introduction

This bulletin provides the recommended repair procedure when the center console door on the 2003 and 2004 model year Matrix will not stay closed.

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty:

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure





1. Remove Center Console Box from vehicle. Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) 2004 model year Matrix Repair Manual: Instrument Panel/Meter, Instrument Panel Sub-assembly Lower.

2. Cut a piece of the 0.5 mm thick felt to the following dimensions:

Felt Size:
Length: 10 mm
Width: 15 mm
Thickness: 0.5 mm





3. Add the strip of felt to the bottom of each hinge. See illustration for location.

4. Reinstall Center Console Box and confirm proper operation.
