Exterior Moulding / Trim: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. w/ Overfender:
REMOVE FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION
Remove the 3 nuts and front bumper extension.
2. w/ Overfender:
REMOVE FRONT FENDER MOULDING
a. Remove the 3 screws.
b. Using a drill, cut the flange portion of the rivet.
HINT: Wind tape so that the drill blade appears approx. 5.0 mm (0.196 in.) on the edge.
NOTE:
- If the drill is pressed too firmly, the rivet will also rotate with the drill edge, thus flange will not be cut.
- If the drill is pried against the rivet, the installation hole of the rivet may be cut or the drill blade may be damaged.
- Use caution against the hot rivet after cut.
c. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
d. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.
NOTE: Do not damage the body.
e. Remove the moulding.
f. Remove the 2 screws and front quarter outer panel extension.
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING
a. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
b. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.
NOTE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Do not damage the body.
c. Remove the moulding.
4. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING
a. Using a heat light, heat the moulding to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
b. Cut the adhesive tape with a knife.
NOTE:
- If reusing the moulding, take care not to damage the moulding.
- Do not damage the body.
c. Remove the moulding.
5. w/ Over fender:
REMOVE NO. 1 REAR WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION
a. Using a drill, cut the flange portion of the rivet.
HINT: Wind tape so that the drill blade appears approx. 5.0 mm (0.196 in.) on the edge.

e. Remove the 4 screws and quarter opening retainer.
6. w/ Overfender:
REMOVE QUARTER OUTSIDE MOULDING
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Using a drill, cut the flange portion of the rivet.
HINT: Wind tape so that the drill blade appears approx. 5.0 mm (0.196 in.) on the edge.
NOTE:
- If the drill is pressed too firmly, the rivet will also rotate with the drill edge, thus flange will not be cut.

f. Remove the 2 screws and rear quarter outer panel extension.
INSTALLATION
1. w/ Overfender:
INSTALL QUARTER OUTSIDE MOULDING
a. Clean the body mounting surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).
2. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
b. Install the quarter outside moulding.
1. Install the 2 screws and rear quarter outer panel extension.
2. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.
Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Moulding: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
3. Lift the moulding release sheet from the face of the moulding.
NOTE: When the moulding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area.
4. Align the bosses with their corresponding holes in the body and press firmly on the moulding.
NOTE: Do not apply excessive force onto the moulding, but steady pressure with your thumbs.
5. Using a riveter, install the moulding with the rivet.
HINT: Install them with the rivet firmly pressed perpendicularly against the installation hole.
6. Install the 2 screws.
2. w/ Overfender:
INSTALL NO. 1 REAR WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION
a. Install the quarter opening retainer with the 4 screws.
b. Clean the body mounting surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).
2. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
c. Install the No. 1 rear wheel opening extension.
1. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.
Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Moulding: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
2. Lift the moulding release sheet from the face of the moulding.

1. Install the front quarter outer panel extension with the 2 screws.
2. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.
Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Moulding: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)
NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
3. Lift the moulding release sheet from the face of the moulding.
NOTE: When the moulding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area.
4. Align the bosses with their corresponding holes in the body, and press firmly on the moulding.
