Throttle Cable
ON-VEHICLE REPAIR1. DISCONNECT THROTTLE CABLE
a. Disconnect the cable from the throttle linkage.
b. Disconnect the cable from the cable clamps in the engine compartment.
c. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cable clamp from the torque converter clutch housing.
2. REMOVE VALVE BODY
3. REMOVE THROTTLE CABLE
Remove the retaining bolt and pull out the throttle cable.
4. INSTALL THROTTLE CABLE
If the throttle cable is new, perform the following operations (a) - (c).
a. Bend the cable so that there is radius of about 200 mm (7.87 inch).
b. Pull the inner cable lightly until the resistance is slightly felt, and hold it there.
c. Stake the stopper, 0.8 - 1.5 mm (0.031 - 0.059 inch) from the end of the outer cable.
d. Install a new O-ring to the throttle cable.
e. Pull the throttle cable and install the retaining bolt.
Torque: 10 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 7 ft. lbs.)
5. INSTALL VALVE BODY
6. CONNECT THROTTLE CABLE TO ENGINE
7. INSTALL DRAIN PLUG
Torque: 20 Nm (205 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
8. FILL ATF AND CHECK FLUID LEVEL
9. ADJUST THROTTLE CABLE
