INTRODUCTION:

Some 2003 - 2004 model year Tundra vehicles may experience a MIL "ON" condition with DTC P0442 (Evaporative Emission Control System Small Leak) due to an irregularity in the fuel filler tube sealing surface. An improved fuel filler tube has been developed to correct this condition.

This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown.

NOTE
The bracket of the fuel filler tube will be reused during replacement.







REQUIRED TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

NOTE

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Using ETAS Techstream, check if DTC P0442 is present.
2. Diagnose and inspect the evaporative emission system.

3. Replace the fuel filler tube if it is determined there is distorsion of the filler neck sealing surface.
4. Please continue with Repair Manual diagnosis if the filler neck is determined NOT to be related to the DTC.
5. Clear the DTC(s) and road test the vehicle to confirm the condition has been corrected.
