Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT




2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
a. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.




3. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE NO.2
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
b. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.
c. Remove the 2 wire harness clamps.




d. Loosen the 2 hose clamps.
e. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner




5. DISCONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE NO.5




6. DISCONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE NO.4
7. REMOVE THROTTLE W/MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the throttle motor connector.
b. Remove the 4 bolts, throttle w/ motor body and gasket.

8. INSTALL THROTTLE W/MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY
a. Install a new gasket and the throttle w/ motor body with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 11 Nm (112 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the throttle motor connector.

9. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE NO.4
10. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE NO.5
11. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the air cleaner with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

12. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE NO.2
13. INSTALL V-BANK COVER
a. Install the V-bank cover with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)

14. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
15. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS
