INTRODUCTION:

Some customers may experience a humming noise from some Corolla rear axles at highway speeds. The noise can be isolated to one or both of the rear hub bearings. A replacement hub bearing is now available to improve this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2003 -- 2005 model year Corolla vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Verify customer concern.
2. If present, remove and replace both rear hub bearings following the procedures outlined in ETAS, 2003, 2004 or 2005 model year Corolla Repair Manual: Drive Shaft/Propeller Shaft; Rear Axle Hub & Bearing Assy.
