INTRODUCTION:






The sliding door front striker plate and lock assembly on the 2004 - 2006 model year Sienna has been redesigned in order to address any customer complaints for rattles that occur under certain driving conditions. The improved front striker plate and lock assembly have a new coating that will reduce noise from contact between the front striker plate and the sliding door lock assembly when in the closed position.

- 2004 model year Sienna vehicles produced BEFORE the Striker Plate Production Change Effective VIN shown below.
- 2004 - 2006 model year Sienna vehicles produced AFTER the Striker Plate Production Change Effective VINs and BEFORE the Lock Assembly Production Change Effective VINs shown in this TSB.

REPAIR PROCEDURE 1:
For vehicles produced BEFORE the Striker Plate Production Change Effective VINs, remove and replace the front striker plate and lock assemblies on both slide doors.

Refer to ETAS for the 2004 model year Sienna Repair Manual: Engine Hood/Door; Slide Door;Adjustment and Overhaul.

Striker Plate Torque: 23 N-m (235 kgf-cm, 17 ft-lbf)

Lock Assembly Torque: 5 N-m (51 kgf-cm, 44 in.-lbf)

REPAIR PROCEDURE 2:
For vehicles produced AFTER the Striker Plate Production Change Effective VINs and BEFORE the Lock Assembly Production Change Effective VINs, remove and replace the lock assemblies on both slide doors.
