DTC B1635 CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG SENSOR (P SEAT SIDE) MALFUNCTIONCIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
DTC Detecting Conditions:
The airbag sensor rear LH consists of parts such as the safing sensor, the diagnostic circuit and the lateral deceleration sensor. The configuration of the airbag sensor rear RH is the same as that of the LH. When the airbag sensor assembly center receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, it determines whether or not the SRS should be activated.
DTC B1635/24 is set when a malfunction is detected in the curtain shield airbag sensor (P seat side) circuit.
HINT: Troubleshoot DTC B1620/21 first when the DTC B1620/21 and B1630/23 are output simultaneously.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
CAUTION: In order to prevent unexpected airbag deployment, disconnect the following connectors before inspecting parts such as wire harnesses, if the application of tester probes to the airbag sensor assembly center connector is necessary.
a. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
b. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
c. Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assembly center.
d. Disconnect the connectors from the horn button assembly.
e. Disconnect the connector from the front passenger airbag assembly.
HINT: Skip steps (f) to (i) if side and curtain shield airbags are not fitted.
f. Disconnect the connector from the front seat airbag assembly LH.
g. Disconnect the connector from the front seat airbag assembly RH.
h. Disconnect the connector from the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
i. Disconnect the connector from the curtain shield airbag assembly RH.
j. Disconnect the connector from the front seat outer belt assembly LH.
k. Disconnect the connector from the front seat outer belt assembly RH.
