Component Tests and General Diagnostics

INSPECTION




1. INSPECT FUSE(HORN)
a. Check the resistance.
1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between each terminals.

Standard: Below 1 Ohms

If the result is not as specified, replace the fuse.







2. INSPECT RELAY (HORN)
a. Check the resistance.
1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.







3. INSPECT HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY
a. Check the operation.
1. Apply battery voltage, then check the horn.
If the result is not as specified, replace the horn assembly.







4. INSPECT LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY
a. Check the operation.
1. Apply battery voltage, then check the horn.
If the result is not as specified, replace the horn assembly.

If all the check results are as specified and the wire harness is normal, replace the horn button switch (steering wheel pad)
