INSPECTION

1. INSPECT SPARK PLUG




a. Clean the 6 spark plugs.

Air pressure: Below 588 kPa (6 kgf/sq.cm, 85 psi)
Duration: 20 seconds or less

b. Check the appearance.







1. Check the spark plug for any damage on its thread and insulator.
If there is any damage, replace the spark plug.




c. Check the electrode gap.

Standard: 1.0 to 1.1 mm (0.039 to 0.043 in.) for new spark plug.
Maximum: 1.46 mm (0.057 in.)

If the result is greater than the maximum, replace the spark plug.

2. INSPECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
a. Check the resistance.




1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

Standard: 1850 to 2450 Ohm at 20°C (68°F)

If the result is not as specified, replace the crankshaft position sensor.
