Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection
(From November, 2004)INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
a. Check the resistance.
1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Resistance:
2.32 to 2.59 kOhms at 20 degrees C (68 degrees F)
0.310 to 0.326 kOhms at 80 degrees C (176 degrees F)
NOTE: If inspecting the water temperature sensor in water, prevent water from flowing into the terminals. After inspection, wipe the water off the sensor.
