REGISTRATION

1. DESCRIPTION OF REGISTRATION

HINT:
- ID code is the same as recognition codes for the wireless transmitter and the engine immobilizer function. Registering an ID code enables the smart key system, the wireless door lock control function and the engine immobilizer function to be operated.
- Code registration is needed when the certification ECU, ID code box, steering lock ECU or key is replaced with a new one.




a. Vehicles with the smart key system do not have a key slot. Therefore, hold the key close to the engine switch to register the key as shown in the illustration.

a. The given table shows ECU replacement and key registration procedures in case the malfunctioning ECU has been specified after troubleshooting the smart key system.

HINT:
- The following procedures indicated in the table below require the use of the hand-held tester:
New key ID registration
Additional key ID registration
Key ID erasure
ECU code registration

- If the customer has not brought all the registered keys, replacement of the ID code box is also required.
- A maximum of 7 keys can be registered.

3. Key registration procedures




a. New key ID registration
(If replacing the certification ECU and ID code box or if replacing the certification ECU, ID code box, and steering lock ECU, perform the given process.)




b. New key ID registration (If replacing the certification ECU, perform the given process.)




c. Additional key ID registration




d. Key ID erasure

HINT: Erase all the registered key codes except one.




e. ECU code registration
f. ECU communication ID registration

NOTE:
- The ECU COMMUNICATION ID should be registered when the ID code box is replaced in order to match these ECM COMMUNICATION ID.
- The engine cannot be started unless the ECM COMMUNICATION ID matches.




1. Register the ECU Communication ID
2. Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.

3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) (do not start the engine) and leave it for 30 minutes.
4. Turn the engine switch off and disconnect terminals TC and CG.
5. Check that the engine starts.
