Engine Temperature Sensor: Testing and Inspection
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSORINSPECTION
1. INSPECT E.F.I. ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
a. Resistance inspection.
1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between each terminal.
Standard Resistance:
2.32 to 2.59 Ohms at Approx. 20 degree C (68 degree F)
0.310 to 0.326 Ohms at Approx. 80 degree C (126 degree F)
NOTE: While checking the engine coolant temperature sensor in water, be careful not to allow water to go into the terminals, and after checking, dry the sensor.
