INTRODUCTION:
Some 2006 model year Tacoma vehicles equipped with the 2TR--FE engine may experience a M.I.L "ON" condition with DTC P0102 (Mass Air Flow Circuit Low Input). An improvement has been made to the mass air flow (MAF) connector to correct this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2006 model year Tacoma vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REQUIRED SSTs:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. To start diagnosis of the vehicle for DTC P0102, refer to ETAS: 2006 model year Tacoma Repair Manual: 2TR--FE Engine Control System: SFI System: P0102.
2. Connect the Diagnostic Tester to DLC3.
3. Start the engine.
4. On the Diagnostic Tester select: DIAGNOSIS/ ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST / PRIMARY / MAF.
5. Monitor the mass air flow sensor (MAF) reading.






6. If value drops to 0 grams per second, inspect the mass air flow sensor connector terminals E2G and VG terminals for intermittent open.
7. Replace affected terminals. Refer to TIS, Collision Repair: Wire Harness Repair.

NOTE:
New connector housing is ONLY required if damage occurs during terminal replacement.
