Electronic Brake Control Module: Service and Repair
Skid Control ECU:
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the steering column.
HINT: Refer to the procedures from the removal of the No 2. rear floor board up until the removal of the steering column assembly.
3. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU
a. Remove the wire harness clamp and skid control buzzer from the skid control ECU bracket.
b. Disconnect the 4 skid control ECU connectors.
c. Remove the 3 nuts and skid control ECU.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL SKID CONTROL ECU
a. Install the skid control ECU with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
b. Connect the 4 skid control ECU connectors.
c. Install the wire harness clamp and skid control buzzer to the skid control ECU bracket.
2. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
a. Install the steering column.
HINT: Refer to the procedures from the installation of the steering column assembly up until the installation of the No 2. rear floor board.
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
6. PERFORM SYSTEM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform the brake system initialization. Initialization
7. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
a. Perform the yaw rate sensor zero point calibration. Calibration
8. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC
a. Check and clear the DTCs.
