Removal
2AZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: KNOCK SENSOR:
REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE (Removal)
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER (Removal)
4. DRAIN COOLANT (Testing and Inspection)
5. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH (Removal)
6. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH (Removal)
7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH (Removal)
8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH (Removal)
9. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (Removal)
10. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK (Removal)
11. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts and cowl top panel outer sub-assembly.
12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (Removal)
13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (Removal)
14. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY (Removal)
15. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE (Removal)
16. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE WITH INJECTOR (Removal)
17. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD
(a) Disconnect the union to check valve hose from the brake booster.
(b) Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
(c) Remove the wire harness clamp.
(d) Remove the union to check valve hose from the vacuum hose clamp.
(e) Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold.
(f) Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.
18. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
(b) Remove the nut and knock sensor.
