DESCRIPTION

When the TVIP system is activated, the TVIP ECU does not allow the stater cut relay to turn on. As a result, the starter cannot crank the engine.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT RELAY (ST Relay)





(a) Remove the starter relay.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TVIP ECU - BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the T3 TVIP ECU connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE TVIP ECU
