DTC B1243 - GSW Terminal Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

If the collision door lock release function does not operate normally, or an open or short in the GSW input circuit of the main body ECU is detected, DTC B1243 will be stored.
HINT: If DTC B1243 is stored, the speed-sensitive automatic door lock function, shift-linked automatic door unlock function, and collision door unlock release function will be prohibited.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT
(a) Clear the DTC. Smart Key System
(b) Check for DTC. Smart Key System

A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR)
(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.





(b) Disconnect the 2D ECU connector.
(c) Disconnect the E47 sensor connector.
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (GSW VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.





(b) Reconnect the 2D ECU connector.
(c) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:






NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
(b) Replace the center airbag sensor.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT
(a) Recheck for DTC. Smart Key System
