Power Retractable Mirrors Do Not Operate With Power Retract Mirror Switch
MIRROR (EXT): POWER MIRROR CONTROL SYSTEM: Power Retractable Mirrors do not Operate with Power Retract Mirror Switch
Power Retractable Mirrors do not Operate with Power Retract Mirror Switch
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
This circuit detects the conditions of the mirror retract switch.
The outer mirror switch sends information about the operating condition of the mirror retract switch (switch input signals) through the CAN communication line. Then the switch input signals are sent to the outer mirror control ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC
(a) Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally. Diagnosis System
Result
B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MIRROR RETRACT SWITCH)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the mirror retract switch Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
Main Body
OK:
On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
NG -- INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH (RETRACTABLE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (MIRROR RETRACT FUNCTION)
(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the power mirror control function Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
Mirror
Result
C -- INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH
B -- INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH
A -- REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU
4. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH (RETRACTABLE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH)
(a) Remove the outer mirror switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE RETRACTABLE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the E2 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the G2 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)
6. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the mirror LH Removal.
(b) For each mirror position: Disconnect the battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the battery, and check the retractable mirror movement.
NOTICE:
- Disconnect and reconnect the battery once between each mirror position check.
- The mirror position cannot be changed manually when the battery is connected. To change the mirror position manually, the battery must be disconnected first.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR LH - OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU)
(a) Disconnect the I17 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the I15 mirror connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU
8. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Remove the mirror RH Removal.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH
OK -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR RH - OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU)
(a) Disconnect the I17 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the I7 mirror connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU
