WIPER / WASHER: REAR WIPER MOTOR: INSPECTION
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Check the wiper operation.
(1) Apply battery voltage to the rear wiper motor and check if the rear wiper motor operates.
OK:
If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
(b) Check the INT operation.
(1) Apply battery voltage to the rear wiper motor and check the speed of the rear wiper motor.
OK:
If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
(c) Check the automatic stop position operation.
(1) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 3 (+B), and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2 (LS) and terminal 4 (E). With the motor rotating, disconnect the negative (-) lead from terminal 2 (LS) to stop the wiper motor operation at any position other than the matchmark.
(2) Check that the motor stops automatically at the matchmark.
OK:
Motor stops automatically at the matchmark.
If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
