Installation

1GR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: VVT SENSOR:

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Bank 2)





(a) Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the VVT sensor.
(b) Install the VVT sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)
(c) Connect the sensor connector.





(d) Connect the No. 4 and No. 5 water by-pass hoses.
2. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Bank 1)





(a) Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the sensor.
(b) Install the sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)
(c) Connect the sensor connector.
3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH ELEMENT (Installation)

4. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR CLEANER HOSE (Installation)

5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE: Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Repair Instruction - Initialization).

6. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (Service and Repair)

7. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK (Testing and Inspection)

8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER (Installation)

9. INSTALL FRONT COWL TOP OUTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (Installation)

10. INSTALL FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the front wiper motor and link assembly (Installation).
11. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (Installation)
