C0273
BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: C1251/51: Open in Pump Motor Circuit
DTC C1251/51 - Open in Pump Motor Circuit
DTC C0273/13 - Open in ABS Motor Relay Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The ABS motor relay (skid control ECU interior circuit) supplies the power to the ABS pump motor. While the ABS is activated, the ECU turns the motor relay ON and operates the ABS pump motor.
HINT: C0273/13: The skid control ECU begins to detect these DTCs when the vehicle speed exceeds 15 km/h (9 mph).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: When replacing the VSC actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (Programming and Relearning).
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Clear the DTC (Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
(e) Select the Active Test mode on the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
(f) Check the operation sound of the ABS motor when operating it with the Techstream.
OK:
The operation sound of the ABS motor can be heard.
NG -- INSPECT FUSE (ABS1)
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTC (Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Check if the same DTC is output (Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
Result
B -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
A -- REPLACE VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
3. INSPECT FUSE (ABS1)
(a) Remove the ABS1 H-fuse from the engine room relay block.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- CHECK FOR SHORTS IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the A17 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
