SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION: Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH Removal
4. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL RH Removal
5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Removal
6. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal
7. REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Removal
8. REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal
9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal
11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal
12. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

16. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Turn back the carpet.





(d) Disconnect the holder (with connectors).
NOTE: When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(e) Remove the 3 bolts and center airbag sensor assembly.
