Applicability

Introduction

Some 2007 - 2009 model year FJ Cruiser vehicles may exhibit a condition where the clutch pedal is slow to return when operated in sub-freezing temperatures. Follow the procedure in this TSB to address this condition.





Warranty Information

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Powertrain Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure

1. Confirm the condition.

Cold soak the vehicle in sub-freezing temperatures.

Is the clutch pedal slow to return to its fully released position?

^ YES - Go to step 2.

^ NO - This TSB does NOT apply. Refer to the applicable Repair Manual for diagnosis.





2. Replace the transmission upper cover assembly clutch accumulator assembly clutch release tube clutch hose flexible hose bracket and clutch tube No.2 bracket (see Figure 1).
