Front Passenger Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

If the front passenger door entry unlock function does not operate but the entry lock function operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. As a faulty part, the touch sensor circuit (certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) -> passenger side door outside handle -> passenger side door key oscillator) can be considered.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Before performing the inspection, check that there are no problems related to "CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM" and "LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM".

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION
(a) When the door control switch on the master switch assembly is operated, check that the locked doors unlock Power Door Lock Control System.
OK:
Locked doors unlock.
NG -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE ON TECHSTREAM (DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the tester on.
(d) Enter the following menus:
Body Electrical / Smart Key / Data List.
(e) Select P Touch Sensor in the Data List and read the tester display.

Smart Key (Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)):





OK:
On the tester screen, the item changes between ON and OFF according to the chart above.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)
OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)




(a) Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and door electrical key oscillator connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE)




(a) Remove the front door outside handle Removal.
(b) Disconnect the touch sensor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. REPLACE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR
(a) Replace the door electrical key oscillator Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)
(a) Check that the entry functions operate normally.
OK:
Entry functions operate normally.
NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE
OK -- END (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)
7. REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE
(a) Replace the front door outside handle LH Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
8. CHECK FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE (OPERATION)
(a) Check that the entry functions operate normally.
OK:
Entry functions operate normally.
NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)
OK -- END (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE IS DEFECTIVE)
