Applicability

Introduction





Some Sequoia and Tundra vehicles may exhibit a gap between the A-Pillar trim garnish and the corner of the instrument panel as shown in the illustration. An improved A-Pillar garnish has been developed for this condition.





Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Production Change Information





This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

Required Tools & Equipment

Repair Procedure





1. Remove the right and left A-Pillar garnishes and replace with NEW A-Pillar garnishes using the procedures listed below.

A. Using a plastic pry tool detach the 2 claws and remove the 2 assist grip plugs.

B. Remove the 2 bolts and assist grip.

C. Detach the claw and remove the front A-Pillar garnish.

Use the same procedures described for the LH and RH side.





2. Confirm the NEW A-Pillar garnish has hook feature added to bottom portion (see Figure 2).

3. Install the NEW A-Pillar garnish in reverse order of removal.

4. Once the new A Pillar garnish is installed make sure the edge of the instrument panel is set on top of the rib on the new A Pillar garnish.





5. Visually inspect both sides to ensure gap condition has been eliminated (see Figure 3).
