2UZ-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR SWITCHING VALVE (for Bank 2): INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the air switching valve with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)
NOTE: Do not hold the bracket of the air switching valve.

2. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR TUBE





(a) Temporarily install a new gasket and the No. 2 air tube to the exhaust manifold side with the 2 nuts.
(b) Install a new gasket and the No. 2 air tube to the air switching valve side with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
(c) Tighten the 2 nuts on the exhaust manifold side.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)





(d) Connect the air pump connector.
(e) Connect the wire harness clamp.
3. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE
(a) Connect the air injection system hose to the air switching valve.
4. CONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE





(a) Connect the water by-pass pipe with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)
5. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH





(a) Install the fender apron seal with the 5 clips.
6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE: Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
