B2311 - Back Door Power Window ECU Inner Motor Failure

DESCRIPTION

The power window regulator motor is operated by the back door power window regulator switch. The back power window regulator motor assembly has motor and ECU functions.

This DTC is stored when the back door power window regulator motor assembly has a malfunction, or the ECU built into the regulator motor determines that the fully closed window position has deviated approximately 20 mm (0.787 in.) or more from the normal position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
- When a power window regulator motor is reinstalled or replaced, the power window control system must be initialized.
- After any door glass or a door glass run has been replaced, the jam protection function may operate unexpectedly when the auto up function is used. In such cases, the auto up function can be reinitialized by repeating the following operations at least 5 times:
(1) Close the power window by fully pulling up the multiplex network master switch or back door power window regulator switch and holding it in the auto up position.
(2) Open the power window by fully pushing down the switch.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (POWER WINDOW)

(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the back door power window regulator motor operates Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

The back door power window regulator motor operates.

NG -- REPLACE BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Initialize the back door power window regulator motor assembly Initialization.

(b) Check that the back door power window operates normally by opening and closing the window Operation Check.

The power window operates normally.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WHETHER PARTS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED CORRECTLY

(a) Check that the power window components are installed correctly.

OK:

Power window components are installed correctly.

HINT
If the power window components are installed correctly, the problem has been caused by battery disconnection while the ignition switch was ON, or the motor being overheated.
