Shift Solenoid Valve

U660E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

(b) If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

(c) Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the shift solenoid valve.

OK:

The solenoid makes an operating noise.

(d) If the operation is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

2. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

(b) If the value is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.

(c) Connect the positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the shift solenoid valve.

OK:

The solenoid makes an operating noise.

(d) If the operation is not as specified, replace the shift solenoid valve.
