B2273 - Ignition 2 Monitor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when there is a problem in the IG2D output circuit, which is from the inside of the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) to the IG2 relay.

HINT
When the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) is replaced with a new one and the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal is connected, the power source mode becomes the IG-ON mode. When the battery is removed and reinstalled, the power source mode that was selected when the battery was removed is restored.

After the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) is replaced, perform the registration procedures for the engine immobiliser system Engine Immobiliser System (W/ Smart Key System).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.

(c) Read the Data List according to the displays on the Techstream.

HINT
When using the Techstream with the engine switch off, turn on and off any of the door courtesy light switches repeatedly at 1.5 second intervals or less until communication between the Techstream and vehicle starts.

OK:

"ON" (Engine switch on (IG)) appears on the screen.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FRO DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Smart Key System (for Start Function).

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) After 10 seconds have elapsed, check if the trouble occurs again.

OK:

DTC B2273 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the 1A connector from the engine room junction block.





(b) Disconnect the E51 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (IG2 RELAY)

(a) Disconnect the 1E connector from the engine room relay block.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)
