Installation

SUSPENSION: REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER (for 2WD): INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STUD BOLT (for LH Side)

(a) Install the stud bolt.





Torque : 17 Nm (173 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL STUD BOLT (for RH Side)

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

3. INSTALL HOLE PLUG

(a) Install the hole plugs to the rear suspension member sub-assembly.





HINT
There are two sizes of hole plugs.

4. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BODY MOUNTING FRONT CUSHION LH

(a) Temporarily install a new rear suspension member body mounting front cushion LH to the position shown in the illustration.





(b) Using SST and a press, install the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion LH to the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

HINT
Slowly press in the mounting cushion.

(c) While observing from the side, press in the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion LH until there is no clearance between the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion LH and the rear suspension member sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
Do not press the rear suspension member excessively, or it will easily deform.

5. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BODY MOUNTING FRONT CUSHION RH

(a) Temporarily install a new rear suspension member body mounting front cushion RH to the position shown in the illustration.





(b) Using SST and a press, install the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion RH to the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

HINT
Slowly press in the mounting cushion.

(c) While observing from the side, press in the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion RH until there is no clearance between the rear suspension member body mounting front cushion RH and the rear suspension member sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

Do not press the rear suspension member excessively, or it will easily deform.

6. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BODY MOUNTING REAR CUSHION (for LH Side)

(a) Temporarily install a new rear suspension member body mounting rear cushion (LH side) to the position shown in the illustration.





(b) Using SST and a press, install the rear suspension member body mounting rear cushion (LH side) to the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

HINT
Slowly press in the mounting cushion.

(c) While observing from the side, press in the rear suspension member body mounting rear cushion (LH side) until there is no clearance between the rear suspension member body mounting rear cushion (LH side) and the rear suspension member sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
Do not press the rear suspension member excessively, or it will easily deform.

7. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BODY MOUNTING REAR CUSHION (for RH Side)

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

8. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER

(a) Set a jack and wooden blocks below the vehicle as shown in the illustration.





(b) Set the rear suspension member onto the jack as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
When removing the rear suspension member, be careful not to damage the vehicle body or other components installed on the vehicle.

(c) Raise the rear suspension member with the jack.





(d) Install the rear suspension member and the rear lower suspension member stopper LH and RH with the 4 nuts.





Nut A - Torque : 55 Nm (561 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf)

Nut B - Torque : 38 Nm (387 kgf-cm, 28 ft-lbf)

(e) Install the rear suspension member and the rear lower suspension member stoppers with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 55 Nm (561 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Be sure to install the rear suspension member with the rear lower suspension member stopper in the correct direction as shown in the illustration.

9. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE CLAMP BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the exhaust pipe clamp bracket sub-assembly with the 3 bolts.





Torque : 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

(b) Install the exhaust pipe clamp to the exhaust pipe clamp bracket sub-assembly.





10. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

11. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

12. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

13. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH

Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

14. STABILIZE SUSPENSION Installation

15. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

16. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

17. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

18. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH

Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

19. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER BAR Installation

20. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH Installation

21. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH Installation

22. INSTALL REAR WHEELS

Torque : 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

23. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL CARRIER LOCK COVER (w/ Cover)

24. INSTALL SPARE TIRE

25. INSTALL LOWER SPARE WHEEL CARRIER HINGE COVER (w/ Cover)

26. INSTALL DECK TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER

27. INSTALL REAR MAT Installation

28. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY Installation

29. INSTALL NO. 2 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

30. INSTALL NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

31. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY Installation

32. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
