Applicability

Introduction

Some 2010 - 2011 model year Highlander vehicles may exhibit a condition where the second row middle seat is difficult to latch in the upright position. An improved seat frame is available to correct this condition.

NOTE

Adjustments to the seat striker/latch should NOT be made in an attempt to improve the ease of latching.

This bulletin applies to North American Produced (NAP) Highlander vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

Repair Procedure





1. Verify the condition.

2. Remove the seat.

Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year Repair Manual:

^ 2010 / 2011 Highlander:
Vehicle Interior - Seat - "Seat: Rear No. 1 Seat Assembly (for LH Side): Removal"

3. Disassemble the seat down to the frame.

Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:

^ 2010 / 2011 Highlander:
Vehicle Interior - Seat - "Seat: Rear No. 1 Seat Assembly (for LH Side): Disassembly"

4. Reassemble with the NEW seat frame.

5. Install the seat.
Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:

6. Cycle the seat into the latched position to ensure the latch function works properly.
