APPLICABILITY:
INTRODUCTION:
Some Customers may experience an abnormal noise (creaking/rattle) coming from the outer rear view mirror(s) while driving over uneven surfaces.This condition is more prevalent after a cold soak or when ambient temperature is below freezing.
Use the following repair procedure to address this condition.

This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Confirm the noise is coming from the outer mirror(s) area by test driving.
2. Can the noise be isolated to the outside mirror(s)?
Yes - Proceed to step 3.
No - This TSB does not apply, continue with further diagnosis.
3. Replace the affected outer rear view mirror. Refer to the Repair Manual within E-TAS / TIS library:
- 2008 / 2009 / 2010: Highlander / Highlander HV

4. Install the NEW outer rear view mirror. Refer to the Repair Manual within E-TAS / TIS library:
- 2008 / 2009 / 2010 : Highlander / Highlander HV

5. Test drive vehicle and confirm no abnormal noise.
