Applicability
Introduction
Some 2008 - 2010 model year Highlander and Highlander HV vehicles may exhibit a rattle pop or click noise when operating the driver or passenger front window glass. In some cases the front window may be found inoperative. This may be due to the window mounting tabs being damaged. Use the following repair information to correct this condition.
NOTE
Before performing repair, confirm that this condition is not related to the window runs, window regulator, or motor. This condition only pertains to the front driver or passenger glass where the window mounting tabs have become damaged.
Production Change Information
This TSB applies to all 2008 - 2010 Highlander and Highlander HV vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.
Repair Procedure
1. Remove the front door panel.
For front door panel removal instructions refer to Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
^ 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Highlander:

^ 2008 / 2009 / 2010 Highlander HV:
Vehicle Exterior - Door/Hatch - "Engine Hood/Door: Front Door: Disassembly"
2. Inspect the front door glass tabs.
A. If a window glass tab is found damaged proceed to the next step.
B. If a window glass tab is not found damaged STOP This TSB does not apply.
3. Replace the Front Glass Sub-assembly with NEW parts.
A. Remove the 2 bolts.
After the bolts are removed, do not allow the window to fall.
B. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly as shown in Figure 2.
C. Insert NEW front door glass sub-assembly into the front door panel along the front door glass run as indicated in the order of the arrows in Figure 3.
D. Install the front door glass sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in*lbf)
4. Re-install the front door panel assembly.

5. Initialize the power window (for driver side) and confirm operation.
