1. ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM

(a) General

(1) The illuminated entry system has the following control functions:

2. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM

(a) The daytime running light system is designed to automatically illuminate the headlights (dimmed LO-beams), during the daytime to make the car more visible to other vehicles.

* The main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) and power distributor control this system. The main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) transmits a turn ON signal to the power distributor, and the power distributor illuminates the LO-beams using a duty control.

* This system is enabled when the conditions given below are met:

* Ignition switch on (IG)

* Engine speed signal input (engine running condition)

* Parking brake switch OFF

* Light control switch not in DRL OFF

* Light control switch is in OFF, TAIL or AUTO position (and the headlights are not turned on via the automatic light control).

3. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM

* When the light control switch is in the AUTO position, the light control sensor detects the ambient light level and automatically turns the headlights, taillights, parking lights, and license plate lights ON or OFF.

* This system is controlled by the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).

4. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM

The light automatic turn-off system is used to prevent forgetting to turn off the exterior lights (headlights, taillights, parking lights, license plate lights).

* This system is controlled by the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).

* This system has the following functions.





5. POWER DISTRIBUTOR

The power distributor uses non-contact type semiconductor relays to reduce the weight of the relay block. The headlight relay LH, headlight relay RH and high beam headlight relay are integrated in the power distributor. The power distributor has LO-beam headlight control function, HI-beam headlight control function and daytime running light control function.
