U151E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Rotate the transmission control cable nut counterclockwise and, while holding the nut in that position, press in the stopper.





(b) Install the outer part of the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever retainer.





NOTICE:
After installation, check that the outer part of the cable lock is protruding beyond portion A-A as shown in the illustration.

(c) Slide the slider in the direction shown in the illustration and pull out the lock piece.





(d) Install the cable end to the shift control unit.





NOTICE:
* Check that the lock piece is pulled up.
* Install the cable end all the way to the base of the pin.
* Push in the lock piece after adjusting the shift lever position.
(e) Install the transmission control cable assembly with the 3 bolts.





Torque : 4.9 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 43 in-lbf)

(f) Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the No. 2 transmission control cable bracket.





Torque : 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)

(g) Temporarily install the transmission control cable assembly to the control shaft lever with the nut.





(h) Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the bracket with a new clip.

13. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION On-Vehicle Inspection
