3MZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: KNOCK SENSOR: INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR
(a) Install the 2 knock sensors so that it is horizontal as shown in the illustration. Then install the 2 bolts.
Torque : 20 Nm (199 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
HINT
It is acceptable for the sensor to be tilted 5°.
(b) Connect the 2 knock sensor connectors.
2. INSTALL OUTLET WATER Installation
3. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD
(a) Install the intake manifold with the 9 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 washers. Using several steps, tighten the bolts and nuts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque : 15 Nm (153 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
(b) Retighten the outlet water mounting bolts and nuts.
Torque : 15 Nm (153 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
(c) Connect the 6 fuel injector connectors.
(d) Install the ground cable with the nut.
Torque : 8.4 Nm (86 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf)
4. CONNECT INLET RADIATOR HOSE
(a) Connect the inlet radiator hose.
5. CONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE
(a) Connect the inlet heater water hose.
6. CONNECT FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the quick connector with the pipe, then push in the quick connector until the retainer makes a "click" sound to connect the fuel hose to the fuel pipe.
NOTICE:
* Check that there are no scratches or foreign objects around the connecting surfaces of the quick connector and pipe before this work.
* After connecting the fuel pipe, confirm that it is securely connected by pulling the quick connector.
(b) Install the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp.
7. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK Installation
8. INSTALL EMISSION CONTROL VALVE SET Installation
9. INSTALL ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD Installation
10. INSTALL AIR CLEANER BRACKET Installation
11. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
12. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
14. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine) Service and Repair
15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
16. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Engine) Testing and Inspection
17. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK Testing and Inspection
18. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Installation
19. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Installation
20. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
21. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Installation
22. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
23. INSTALL HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL Installation
24. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Installation
25. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Installation
