INTRODUCTION:
Some 2009 - 2010 Corolla and Matrix vehicles may exhibit a condition where the Lower "B" Pillar trim garnish becomes loose or detached. A new clip has been developed to address this concern. Use the following repair information to install the clip.

NOTE

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side as needed.







1. Remove the front door scuff plate by disengaging the 8 claws.

For lower center pillar garnish removal instructions,refer to the Repair Manual within E-TAS / TIS library:

2. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip.







3. Remove the rear door scuff plate by disengaging the 6 claws.







4. Remove the rear door opening trim weather strip.
5. Remove the lower center pillar garnish by disengaging the 2 claws and 2 clips.
A. Corolla Only:







(1). Add a New clip to the center Tab as shown in Figure 5.

NOTE
There are 2 tabs on the leading edge of the garnish.







(2). The installed clip should resemble the illustration in Figure 6.

B. Matrix Only:







(1). Add a New clip to the center Tab as shown in Figure 7.

NOTE
There are 3 tabs on the leading edge of the garnish.







(2). The installed clip should resemble the illustration in Figure 8.

6. Install the lower center pillar garnish in the reverse order of removal.
