Installation

PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE LEVER: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the parking brake switch assembly to the parking brake lever sub-assembly with the screw.





Torque : 0.9 Nm (9 kgf-cm, 8 in-lbf)

2. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake lever sub-assembly.





(b) Bend the parking brake lever claw.





(c) Temporarily install the adjusting nut and the lock nut to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.





3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE END STOPPER

(a) Install the parking brake cable end stopper to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.





4. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the parking brake equalizer to the parking brake cable end stopper.





(b) Engage the 2 claws to install the parking brake cable end stopper to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.





5. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE LEVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the parking brake lever assembly with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 15 Nm (148 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

(b) Connect the parking brake switch connector.





6. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

(a) Connect the parking brake equalizer to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly as shown in the illustration.





(b) Connect the parking brake equalizer to the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

HINT
Perform the same procedure as for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

7. INSTALL NO. 3 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

(a) Install the No. 3 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 5 bolts.





Torque : 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)

(b) Install the floor carpet.

8. INSTALL NO. 3 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

(a) Install the No. 3 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 5 bolts.





Torque : 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)

(b) Install the floor carpet.

9. INSTALL NO. 2 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

(a) Install the No. 2 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.





Torque : 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)

10. INSTALL NO. 2 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

(a) Install the No. 2 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.





Torque : 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)

11. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL (for Torsion Beam Type Suspension) Adjustments

12. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE AND PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL (for Double Wishbone Type Suspension) Adjustments

13. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

Refer to the instructions for Installation of the front seat assembly (w/o Seatback Board) Installation.

15. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Seatback Board)

HINT
Perform the same procedure for the LH side.

16. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Seatback Board)

17. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

18. INSPECT BRAKE WARNING LIGHT Adjustments

19. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)
