1. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER

(a) Check operation.

(1) Using a speedometer tester (calibrated chassis dynamometer), check the speedometer indication according to the table below.

Reference: km/h (Except for U.S.A.):

NOTICE:
Tire wear as well as over or under inflation will cause errors.

(2) Check the deviation of the speedometer from the acceptable range.

Reference:

Less than 0.5 km/h (0.3 mph)

HINT
If the indication is not as specified, go to Problem Symptoms Table Problem Symptoms Table.

2. INSPECT TACHOMETER

(a) Check the operation.

(1) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(2) Start the engine.

(3) Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Data List" Problem Symptoms Table.

(4) Compare the engine speed displayed on the Techstream with the tachometer reading.
