DESCRIPTION

With the ignition switch ON, the power window master switch transmits remote switch signals to the switches of the passenger door power window and rear door power windows. Then, each regulator switch drives its respective power window regulator motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH

(a) Turn the window lock switch OFF and operate the switches on the master switch. Check that the remote UP / DOWN function operates normally.

OK:

Remote UP / DOWN function operates normally.

NG -- CHECK MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION

OK -- END

2. CHECK MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION

(a) Check that the passenger door power window and rear door power window manual UP / DOWN function operates normally.

OK:

Manual UP / DOWN function operates normally.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY)

OK -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH Removal

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the power window master switch connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - FRONT PASSENGER, REAR LH/RH SWITCH)

(a) Front passenger side:

(1) Disconnect the power window switch (passenger side) connector.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(b) Rear LH side:

(1) Disconnect the power window switch (rear LH side) connector.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Result:

D -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW SWITCH (REAR RH SIDE) Removal

C -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW SWITCH (REAR LH SIDE) Removal

B -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW SWITCH (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE) Removal

A -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
