SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Removal

5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal

6. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) Removal

7. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX Removal

9. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE Removal

10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET

11. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) Removal

12. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Removal

13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

15. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for Manual Transaxle) Removal

16. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for Automatic Transaxle) Removal

17. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover) Removal

18. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Disconnect the holder (with connectors).





NOTICE:
When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(d) Remove the 3 bolts and center airbag sensor assembly.
