ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: FRONT DOOR: DISASSEMBLY

HINT
* Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
* The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

2. REMOVE FRONT LOWER DOOR FRAME BRACKET GARNISH LH

(a) Using moulding remover A, detach the clip and 3 claws, remove the garnish.

3. REMOVE FRONT UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL LH

(a) Using moulding remover A, detach the clip and 5 claws, and remove the panel (with the switch(es)).

(b) Disconnect the switch connector(s).

(c) for Driver Side:

Remove the 3 screws and power window regulator master switch from the panel.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the screws as the switch may fall and become damaged.

(d) for Passenger Side:

Using moulding remover A, detach the 2 claws and remove the door lock control switch from the panel.

NOTICE:
Be careful when detaching the claws as the switch may fall and become damaged.

(e) for Passenger Side:

Using moulding remover A, detach the 2 claws and remove the power window regulator switch from the panel.

NOTICE:
Be careful when detaching the claws as the switch may fall and become damaged.

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Using moulding remover A, detach the 12 claws and remove the door assist grip.

(b) Using moulding remover A, detach the 3 claws and remove the door inside handle bezel plug.

(d) Using a screwdriver, detach the 10 clips and 2 claws, and remove the trim board.

HINT
* Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
* If the screwdriver cannot reach the clips, pull on the bottom of the trim board to remove it.
(e) Using a screwdriver, detach the 7 claws and remove the weatherstrip inner.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(f) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the speaker door grille.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle and remove the inside handle.

9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

(a) Disconnect each connector and remove the service hole cover.

NOTICE:
Remove any tape remaining on the door.

10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY LH

11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) for Driver Side:

Temporarily install the power window regulator master switch.

(b) for Passenger Side:

Temporarily install the power window regulator switch.

(c) Move the door glass until the 2 bolts appear in the service holes.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the glass may fall and become damaged.

(e) Remove the door glass in the direction indicated by the arrows in the illustration.

HINT
Remove the glass upward.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the glass.

(f) for Driver side:

Remove the power window regulator master switch.

(g) for Passenger side:

Remove the power window regulator switch.

12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the 6 bolts and regulator.

HINT
Remove the window regulator through the service hole.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the window regulator may fall and become damaged.

13. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Using a T25 "TORX" driver, remove the 3 screws and motor.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the screws as the motor may fall and become damaged.

14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the bolt and frame.

HINT
Remove the frame through the service hole.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolt as the frame may fall and become damaged.

15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH (for Driver Side)

(a) Remove the hole plug.

(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, loosen the screw and remove the cover (with door lock cylinder).

HINT
Loosen but do not remove the screw.

(c) Remove the door lock cylinder from the cover.

16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER RH (for Front Passenger Side)

(a) Remove the hole plug.

(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, loosen the screw and remove the cover.

HINT
Loosen but do not remove the screw.

17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the 3 screws.

NOTICE:
Be careful when removing the bolts as the door lock may fall and become damaged.

(c) Slide the door lock downward to disconnect the front door lock open rod from the door lock. Then remove the door lock (with cables).

HINT
Remove the door lock through the service hole.

(d) Remove the door lock wiring harness packing from the door lock.

(e) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and open the cover.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(f) Remove the 2 cables as shown in the illustration.

18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH

(a) w/o Smart Key System:

Remove the handle by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

(b) w/ Smart Key System:

(1) Disconnect the connector.

(2) Remove the handle by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) w/ Smart Key System:

(1) Disconnect the connector.

(2) Using a clip remover, detach the 4 clamps.

(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, loosen the screw of the frame.

NOTICE:
Be sure to remove the outside handle frame together with the clip, as the clip will be damaged if it remains attached to the door panel.

(d) w/o Smart Key System:

(e) Detach the claw and remove the frame.

HINT
Remove the frame through the service hole.

(f) w/ Smart Key System:

(g) Detach the claw. Slide the outside handle frame and No. 2 electrical key wire harness to remove them.

HINT
Remove the outside handle frame through the service hole.

(h) Remove the front door lock open rod.

20. REMOVE NO. 2 ELECTRICAL KEY WIRE HARNESS (w/ Smart Key System)

(a) Detach the claw.

(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the wire harness from the frame.

21. REMOVE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (w/ Smart Key System)

(a) Remove the screw and door electrical key oscillator.

22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD LH

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the pad.

23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the pad.

24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and door check.

HINT
Remove the door check through the service hole.

25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH

26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH

(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 17 clips and remove the weatherstrip.

HINT
If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.

27. REMOVE CUSHION

(a) Remove the 2 cushions.
