Driver Side Door Entry Unlock Function Does Not Operate

DOOR LOCK: SMART KEY SYSTEM: Driver Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate
- Driver Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When an ID code from the door electrical key oscillator LH matches the ID code from the key, the certification ECU outputs an SEL signal (Lo when output) to the door electrical key oscillator LH, activates the touch sensor located on the backside of the outside door handle, and enters unlock standby mode. When the touch sensor is touched, the door electrical key oscillator LH sends a SENS signal (Lo when output) to the certification ECU and the certification ECU sends an unlock signal to the driver side door lock.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream ON.

(c) By following the Techstream screen display, check whether any DTCs are output.

OK:

No DTC output.

Result

C -- Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART Starting - Smart Key System

B -- Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART Starting - Smart Key System
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK MANUAL DOOR UNLOCK OPERATION

(a) Check that all the doors unlock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to UNLOCK.

OK:

All doors can be unlocked with door control switch.

NG -- Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Operation Check
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL OPERATION

(a) Check that the wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally Operation Check.

OK:

Wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally.

NG -- Go to WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Smart Key System) Operation Check
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH)

(a) Check the Data List to confirm the operation of the door courtesy light switch (driver side).

Main Body

OK:

On Techstream screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

NG -- Go to LIGHTING SYSTEM Door Courtesy Switch Circuit
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LOCK POSITION SWITCH)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the door lock position switch (driver side).

Main Body

OK:

On Techstream screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

NG -- Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Operation Check
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (DRIVER SIDE SELECT)

(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the door electrical key oscillator operates.

Smart Key

OK:

ON (D-Seat Select is ON) appears on screen.

NG -- REPLACE ECU AGGREGATION BOX (CERTIFICATION ECU) Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TOUCH SENSOR)

(a) With "D-Seat Select" ON, check the Data List to confirm the operation of the touch sensor (driver side).

Smart Key

OK:

When driver side door touch sensor is set to ON, ON (sensor is touched) appears on screen.

NG -- CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Driver Side)
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK ECU AGGREGATION BOX (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

(b) Check that the entry unlock function operates normally Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

OK:

Entry unlock function operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (MAIN BODY ECU)

OK -- END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE)

9. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (for Driver Side)

(a) Measure the voltage of the oscillator.

Standard voltage:

NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA)

OK -- REPLACE ECU AGGREGATION BOX (CERTIFICATION ECU) Removal

10. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA)

(a) Disconnect the g2 oscillator connector.

(b) Disconnect the g1 antenna connector.
