DESCRIPTION
When the ignition switch is ON, the center airbag sensor transmits front seat inner belt state signals to the meter ECU through CAN. If the driver seat belt is not fastened, the meter ECU blinks the driver side seat belt warning light. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Check for DTCs.
(1) for CAN Communication System DTC Check / Clear.
(2) for Airbag System Diagnosis System.
Result
C -- GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM Up to 11/2009
B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM CAN Communication System
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (DRIVER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT)
(a) Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select Active Test Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

OK:
Driver side seat belt warning light condition can be switched by Active Test.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Temporarily replace the front seat inner belt LH with a new or normally functioning one Removal.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT
(a) Check the driver side seat belt warning light function Operation Check.
OK:
Driver side seat belt warning light operates normally.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER Removal
OK -- END (FRONT SEAT INNER BELT LH IS DEFECTIVE)
