3UR-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: ENGINE UNIT: INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL RADIO SETTING CONDENSER
(a) Install the 2 radio setting condensers to the cylinder head cover with the 2 bolts.
Torque : 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 62 in-lbf)
2. INSTALL SPARK PLUG
3. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY Installation
4. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR Installation
5. INSTALL CASE SEPARATOR
(a) Install the case separator with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
6. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE
(a) Connect the 3 clamps and 4 knock sensor connectors.
7. INSTALL NO. 3 AIR TUBE Installation
8. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR TUBE Installation
9. INSTALL ELECTRIC AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY Installation
10. INSTALL INLET WATER HOUSING Installation
11. INSTALL OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY Installation
12. INSTALL NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
13. INSTALL WATER PUMP PULLEY Installation
14. INSTALL WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
15. INSTALL AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
16. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER Installation
17. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER Installation
18. INSTALL FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT Installation
19. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE Installation
20. INSTALL WATER BY-PASS PIPE HOSE (w/ Oil Cooler) Installation
21. INSTALL FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the fuel tube.
22. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the No. 2 fuel tube with the 2 bolts.
Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
23. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD Installation
24. INSTALL NO. 1 HOSE TO HOSE TUBE
(a) Install the No. 1 tube with the 2 bolts.
Torque : 8.2 Nm (84 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf)
25. INSTALL VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY Installation
26. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
27. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
28. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
29. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
30. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
31. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE COVER Installation
32. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH
(a) Install the mounting bracket with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 35 Nm (357 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
33. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH
(a) Install the mounting bracket with the 4 bolts.
Torque : 35 Nm (357 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
34. INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH
(a) Install the mounting insulator with the nut.
Torque : 72 Nm (734 kgf-cm, 53 ft-lbf)
35. INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR
(a) Install the mounting insulator with the nut.
Torque : 72 Nm (734 kgf-cm, 53 ft-lbf)
36. INSTALL CYLINDER BLOCK WATER DRAIN COCK PLUG
(a) Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the drain cocks.
Adhesive:
Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or equivalent
(b) Install the water drain cocks.
Torque : 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)
(c) Further tighten the drain cocks within 360° so that the drain cock pipes are within the range shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
* Do not rotate the drain cocks more than 1 revolution (360°) after tightening the drain cocks to the specified torque.
* Do not loosen the drain cocks to adjust them. If an adjustment is necessary, remove the drain cocks and reinstall them.
(d) Install the water drain cock plugs to the water drain cocks.
Torque : 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
37. INSTALL NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the No. 1 fuel pipe Service Precautions.
38. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE
(a) Install the engine wire.
(b) Install the 3 bolts as shown in the illustration.
Torque : 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)
(c) Connect the 5 clamps.
(d) Connect the 2 air switching valve connectors.
(e) Connect the 7 clamps.
(f) Connect the oil pressure sender gauge connector.
(g) Connect the throttle sensor connector.
(h) Connect the noise filter connector.
(i) Connect the fuel injector connector.
(j) Connect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.
(k) Connect the 4 ignition coil connectors.
(l) Connect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.
(m) Connect the 7 clamps and install the engine wire with the bolt.
Torque : 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
(n) Connect the noise filter connector.
(o) Connect the fuel injector connector.
(p) Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
(q) Connect the purge VSV connector.
(r) Connect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).
(s) Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.
(t) Connect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.
(u) Connect the 4 ignition coil connectors.
(v) Connect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connector.
