INTRODUCTION:
Some 2008 - 2011 Sequoia vehicles may exhibit a condition where the rear bumper cover is deformed around the cutout portion for the exhaust tailpipe. A new tailpipe assembly has been designed to correct this condition. Please follow the repair procedures outlined in this bulletin.

This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove tailpipe assembly.
CAUTION
- Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.
- The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
- Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.
A. Remove the bolt, clamp, and gasket.
B. Disconnect the tailpipe assembly from the exhaust pipe support.
2. Install tailpipe assembly.
A. Connect the tailpipe to the exhaust pipe support.
B. Install a NEW gasket to the center exhaust pipe.
C. Connect the tailpipe to the center exhaust pipe.
D. Attach a NEW clamp to the tailpipe and center exhaust pipe. Then install the NEW bolt to the clamp.
Torque: 32 N-m (326 kgf-cm, 24 ft-lbf)
HINT
Install the clamp within the angle range shown in the illustration.
E. Inspect for exhaust gas leak.
3. Replace bumper cover.
