CAN Communication System





NETWORKING: CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: TERMINALS OF ECU

HINT
Operating the ignition switch, any switches or any doors triggers related ECU and sensor communication with the CAN, which causes resistance variation.

1. JUNCTION CONNECTOR

(a) NO. 1 JUNCTION CONNECTOR

HINT
* The connectors connected to the junction connector can be distinguished by the colors of the bus lines and the connecting side of the connector.
* The connectors can be connected to any terminals on the same side.
(b) NO. 2 JUNCTION CONNECTOR

* *2: w/ Bus Buffer ECU

2. CHECK DLC3





(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





3. CHECK SKID CONTROL ECU





(a) Disconnect the A19 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





4. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU





(a) Disconnect the H2, DB and DD ECU connectors.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

5. CHECK ECM





(a) Disconnect the A27 and D56 ECM connectors.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





6. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER





(a) Disconnect the H24 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





7. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR





(a) Disconnect the H56 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





8. CHECK COMBINATION METER ECU





(a) Disconnect the H37 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

9. CHECK STEERING ANGLE SENSOR





(a) Disconnect the H6 sensor connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





10. CHECK 4WD CONTROL ECU

HINT
For vehicles with 4WD only.





(a) Disconnect the A28 and A29 ECU connectors.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





11. CHECK BUS BUFFER ECU

HINT
For vehicles with bus buffer ECU only.





(a) Disconnect the H66 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





12. CHECK POWER SEAT CONTROL ECU

HINT
For vehicles with seat memory only.





(a) Disconnect the X10 and X11 ECU connectors.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





13. CHECK OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU

HINT
For vehicles with seat memory only.





(a) Disconnect the M7 and M8 ECU connectors.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





14. CHECK MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU

For vehicles with seat memory only.





(a) Disconnect the H57 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





15. CHECK DISTANCE CONTROL ECU

HINT
For vehicles with a dynamic laser cruise control system only.





(a) Disconnect the A43 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





16. CHECK POWER STEERING ECU





(a) Disconnect the H38 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





17. CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU

(a) w/ AVS:





(1) Disconnect the O17 and O18 ECU connectors.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





(b) w/o AVS:





(1) Disconnect the O19 ECU connector.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





18. CHECK POWER BACK DOOR ECU

HINT
For vehicles with power back door system only.





(a) Disconnect the O30 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
