Zero Point Calibration of Acceleration Sensor Undone - Vehicle Stability Control System

BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM (for Vacuum Brake Booster): C1210/36,C1336/39: Zero Point Calibration of Yaw Rate Sensor Undone
C1336/39 - Zero Point Calibration of Acceleration Sensor Undone

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU receives signals from the yaw rate and deceleration sensor via the CAN communication system.

The yaw rate sensor has the built in deceleration sensor.

If there is trouble in the bus lines between the yaw rate and deceleration sensor and the CAN communication system, the DTCs U0123/62 (yaw rate sensor communication trouble) and U0124/95 (deceleration sensor communication trouble) are output.

The DTCs are also output when the calibration has not been completed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Vehicle Stability Control System (for Vacuum Brake Booster).

HINT
When U0123/62, U0124/95 and/or U0126/63 is output along with C1210/36 and/or C1336/39, inspect and repair trouble areas indicated by U0123/62, U0124/95 and/or U0126/63 first U Code Charts.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR

(a) Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and deceleration sensor Vehicle Stability Control System (for Vacuum Brake Booster).

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Clear the DTC Vehicle Stability Control System (for Vacuum Brake Booster).

(c) At a speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more, drive the vehicle, turn the steering wheel, and decelerate (depress the brake pedal) the vehicle.

(d) Check if the same DTC is recorded Vehicle Stability Control System (for Vacuum Brake Booster).

Result

HINT
* The DTCs are recorded because zero point calibration has not been completed.
* End the procedure as the same DTCs are not recorded after completion of zero point calibration.

B -- END
A -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR INSTALLATION

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Check that the yaw rate and deceleration sensor has been installed properly Installation.

OK:

The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.

The sensor should not be tilted.

NG -- INSTALL YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR CORRECTLY Installation
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECU - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH OR PARKING BRAKE SWITCH)

(a) for Automatic transmission

(1) Disconnect the Park/Neutral position switch connector. switch connector.

(2) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

(b) for Manual transmission

(1) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH OR PARKING BRAKE SWITCH

(a) Inspect the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch (for Automatic transmission models).

(1) Disconnect the PNP switch connector.

(2) Check the resistance when the transmission gear selector lever is moved to each position.

Standard resistance:

(b) Inspect the parking brake switch (for Manual transmission models).

(1) Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

(2) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

:

NG -- REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH OR PARKING BRAKE SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. REPLACE YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR

(a) Replace the yaw rate and deceleration sensor Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

7. PERFORM YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION

(a) Perform the zero point calibration of the yaw rate and deceleration sensor Vehicle Stability Control System (for Vacuum Brake Booster).

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

8. RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Vehicle Stability Control System (for Vacuum Brake Booster).

(b) Check if the same DTCs are recorded Vehicle Stability Control System (for Vacuum Brake Booster).

Result

B -- END

A -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Removal
