INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration Vehicle Stability Control System (for Hydraulic Brake Booster).
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Check that the BRAKE warning light comes on.
OK:
BRAKE warning light comes on.
(d) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
(e) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.
OK -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT BATTERY
(a) Check the battery voltage.
Standard:
11 to 14 V
NG -- INSPECT CHARGING SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT FUSE (GAUGE)
(a) Remove the GAUGE fuse from the driver side J/B.
(b) Measure the resistance of the GAUGE fuse.
Standard:
Below 1 Ohms
(c) Reinstall the GAUGE fuse.
NG -- CHECK FOR SHORTS IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the combination meter connector.
(c) Measure the resistance.
Standard:
(d) Measure the resistance.
Standard:
(e) Reconnect the combination meter connector.
(f) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
(a) Check the combination meter system Problem Symptoms Table.
OK:
Combination meter is normal.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
OK -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
